STRONG START FOR INVOTEC GROUP NEW MD
July saw record sales output for Invotec Group. The Group produces a broad range of complex, high-reliability printed circuit board solutions for clients in the avionics, aerospace and defence sectors.
New MD, Tim Tatton, who only took over in May 2012, previously having been both Group Operations Director and Manager of Operations at Tamworth, attributed the record figures to the winning of new programs within its existing customer base and the development of some exciting new client relationships.
He commented: “These figures are great news and they demonstrate our proven ability in supplying time critical, high technology PCBs. This is very encouraging against the back-drop of pessimism and uncertainty that continues to weigh heavily on the global economy.”
The Group also produces PCBs for use in industrial, medical, telecommunications infrastructure and security sectors. Reliability, quality and consistency are essential in these market sectors; Invotec meet these demands by delivering a flexible, committed and competitive manufacturing and service proposition.
“Operationally we have to ensure we keep pace with the underlying demand; it is testament to our philosophy of continuous improvement and the ongoing efforts of our staff that we continue to deliver on our promises.”
RUBICON HAS ACQUIRED A PORTFOLIO OF THREE COMPANIES IN EUROPE
In June 2011, Rubicon Partners acquired a portfolio of three industrial companies from Paragon Partners. This is Rubicon’s first portfolio acquisition in Germany and we are working in partnership with Vision Capital, an international private equity investor with an innovative approach to private equity
The companies acquired are German-based ABL Technic (ABL), Metallwarenfabrik Gemmingen (MG), and Swiss-based Swisshaus (Swisshaus). ABL is Europe’s leading provider of specialist paint stripping services to industrial plants; MG is an engineering firm with two divisions – Gensets, a niche manufacturer of power generators and Motor Components, which produces customized die-castings and stampings for electric motors in a wide variety of industrial applications; Swisshaus is a specialist architect and general contractor in the residential system housing market in Switzerland. Aggregate revenues for the three businesses in 2010 were circa €200m.
We are delighted to be working with Vision Capital, who have a track record of portfolio acquisitions and investing in companies for growth. This partnership combines our comprehensive strategic and operational capability with the financial strength and expertise of the Vision Capital team.
This is our first German portfolio investment since establishing our office in Munich at the beginning of this year, and we look forward to working with Vision Capital to support all three portfolio companies through the next stage of their development.
Rubicon Partners completed the acquisition of Farsound Engineering Ltd in July 2011. Farsound specialises in both supply chain management to, and the manufacture of components for, the aerospace industry. Based in Romford, Essex, the company was established in 1979 and has a turnover of approximately £20m.
This continues Rubicon’s track record of identifying and acquiring industrial businesses which can benefit from our extensive Operating and Strategic experience.
The transaction involves a new Partnership with Grovepoint Capital and Investec. Together we have created a new vehicle, RG Industries LLP (RGI), and the Farsound acquisition is the first step in building a global portfolio of high quality industrial businesses operating in the manufacturing and distribution sectors.
